Lit by Dad 5th June 2014
I remember our talk during Rebecca’s graduation when we visualized you wearing that blue graduation gown and getting your High School Diploma. We smiled as it seemed certain. We laughed because the future was wide open with nothing in your way. Tomorrow when we collect your diploma we will be filled with pride because of the young man you were. We never thought we’d have to do this without you. I’m lighting this candle in the hope your spirit will be with us tomorrow and that we represent you well. Not everyone saw what I had the good fortune to see. You were a true competitor: whether it was a debate, a video game or a soccer match you met each challenge with a game face. You loved the soccer tournaments at the end of each season and your unassisted goal against Noblesville will be forever burned into my memory. That goal was a testament to who you were. You never gave up even if the odds were against you. We’ll take your diploma remembering your accomplishments and the strong young man you were. I hope you’re able to look down and watch. Love ya Buddy !!
