What is Grey by Jack Romaine
Grey is a gloomy morn
A neutral opinion both Rose and thorn
Neither good nor bad
Not happy, not sad
A ship in a mist sounding it's foghorn
Grey can be light sadness
or a watered down glee
It's what drives a man to madness
As he goes on a spree
Grey is a shoddy old cloth
to warmth the unaligned souls
Gray is a clam chowder broth
That doesn't quite fill the stomach's holes
Grey is a purgatory
for angels and demons alike
Grey is a cold crematory
that sears and freezes the psyche
Grey is a happy old man
who's secretly depressed
Grey is a massive clan
Not appreciated or oppressed
Grey brings us together
and tears us apart
It is a freezing weather
that burns up the heart
No one likes Grey
But everyone does
Without a drink put away
Grey brings a light buzz
Without Grey who knows what the world would be
A world with only good and bad, how good that would seem
But without Grey there'd be no compromise
Just a black and white world with black and white despise
