This morning as I got ready for what was to take place, I knew it was going to be hard. I never would have imagined that you were not going to be present to receive your own diploma. We all gathered all our strength and walked through those doors to your high school. We sat up front and waited for all of your peers to come in the auditorium. Sitting there, my heart was aching. Three of your friends came by and said hello and hugged some of us that were near the aisle. It always touches me when your friends come around. As they called up the students that were graduating that day because they were not able to walk down to the actual graduation that were to take place tomorrow at Lucas Oil Stadium because of sports game like track and baseball. Seeing them in their blue gowns and caps, I tried to envision you walking up there too. Then when all of them went up about 14 of them, they then stopped and the principal announced the event of your passing. He announced that we are to receive it for you and the tears just started flowing for me. The whole class of 2014 stood up for you Jack. You did get your standing O. They clapped and I was overwhelmed with emotions. Your diploma is beautiful and is now sitting on the altar. Denise and Andrew were there and they took pictures and wept with us. Jr was not able to be there since he just started his job this week but I know he wanted to be there. We went our for lunch and talked about our memories with you. It was a nice finish to the most bittersweet thing we did today. We are proud of you Jack, the man you were. You are loved by many and you touched all of those you came in contact with. We will continue to remember you and soon we will all be together again. We love you Son....
